Ban polystyrene in Broward County!
Polystyrene foam foodware is a major source of litter and one of the top items we find on our regular beach cleanups. The Broward County Chapter seeks to ban polystyrene foam foodware on all Broward County beaches and parks!
The Florida Legislature has taken away the ability of cities and counties to ban polystyrene in all areas except municipal property. That's why we're pushing Broward County to ban polystyrene foam foodware on all county beaches and parks. This is a first, but important step for the county to take in reducing plastic pollution.
